About ADM studio

a burgeoning lifestyle brand

ADM Studio is a brand catering to a customer who asks where everything they buy comes from and who makes it. The answer is simple in this case: each piece is designed by Adam Aronowitz, the designer, and made by him in his studio in Brooklyn. All yarns are of the finest quality and milled and dyed in America. As a genderless brand inclusive of most body types, each high-quality piece will surely become a staple in your wardrobe or a cherished art piece. When you purchase an ADM Studio garment or art piece you are buying into the designer, the years of experience, expertise and one person’s labor. The world is such a large, interconnected place but ADM Studio helps to make it a bit smaller.

Our pieces are evocative, sometimes erotic and very sentimental.

The brand focuses on knitwear, up-cycled goods and tufted rugs and is ever-expanding to bring the designer’s aesthetic to the world. Through creating knitted garments, repurposing old garments and using yarn scraps to make art pieces, ADM Studio offers one-of-a-kind pieces with a zero-waste initiative.

zero waste initiative

ADM Studio currently produces knitwear, up-cycled goods and tufted rugs, but how does that make us zero waste?

Knitting is a low-waste method of garment making. Unlike cutting and sewing woven fabrics, knitting simultaneously makes the fabric and shapes the garment by way of the knitting machine. Very little waste is created during the knitting process. In fact, the average sweater creates just 1 ounce of waste yarn needed to operate the machine.

Up-cycling old garments to make new, one-of-a-kind pieces is pretty self explanatory. Currently, we are focusing on repurposing denim to make pants, sweatshirts and other goods. Jeans that are destined for the landfill are saved and redesigned along with supplementary fabrics that come from local dead stock suppliers.

Rug tufting, is a great way to use leftover yarn scraps from old projects in order to create beautiful pieces. However, tufting does waste a bit of yarn in the production process, which is why we collect the discarded yarn and save it for pillow stuffing.

In fact, all scraps — be it woven fabric, knit swatches, yarn or errant threads — are saved and transformed into pillow stuffing. ADM Studio takes our responsibility to the planet seriously.
